THE HIGHLIGHTS

THE ITINERARY

ARRIVE, RESET AND CONNECT

Welcome to Italy! After collecting you from Bologna Airport or the city centre in the afternoon, we make our way through rolling hills and vineyard roads to your home for the next few days – a magnificent villa set in the Italian countryside As the heat softens, we lace up for our first group shakeout run, an easy sunset loop to loosen the legs and meet the crew. Back at the villa, we tuck into a pizza night, play games, and settle into the rhythm of the trip.

Daily Distance: 5-8km

TRACK SESSION AND PADEL

After breakfast at the villa, we head out late in the morning for the RUNHAUS track interval session in nearby Forlì. Post-session, we refuel and roll straight into a padel match-up – friendly competition, plenty of laughter, and the ideal way to keep the legs moving without taking the day too seriously. The evening is slower – allowing for time to explore the villa and relax after a hard day.

Daily Distance: 5-10km

SAN MARINO SUMMIT RUN

We start early with a light breakfast before crossing into San Marino for one of the trip’s standout moments, for a guided hill run up to the micronation’s tallest peak. It’s challenging, stunning, and wildly rewarding. After reaching the top and taking in the views, we return for lunch and a relaxed afternoon back at the villa. Dinner and evening games follow, with that happy-tired feeling only a big day of running brings.

Daily Distance: 7-10km

LONG RUN AND WAKE PARK

Another early start begins with a long run from the villa, with plenty of time to reset afterwards. The afternoon flips the pace completely, as we head to a wake park for a mix of cable sessions, beach volleyball, laughter, and energy. As the sun drops, we dress up for group photos, games, and a final family-style dinner together – the perfect send-off to a week of movement, connection, and new friendships.

Daily Distance: 10-20km

FINAL MILES AND FAREWELLS

We ease into the last morning with one final easy run. After breakfast, we check out and travel back to Bologna (city or airport), arriving late morning. A trip that starts with strangers, ends with lifelong friends.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

FAQs

What is the age range of the trip?

RUNHAUS trips are designed for people in their 20s and 30s who want to combine travel, running, and meeting new people in a relaxed but active environment.

This trip hosts around 16-20 guests – small enough to feel personal, big enough for a community.

Yes! Before departure, we’ll open a group chat so you can meet everyone, ask questions, and get excited for the week.

Yep! We always offer multiple dates around the same period at the same villa.

No – flights are not included. This gives you full flexibility to choose the airports, times, and prices that work best for you.

The trip has a clear structure, but plenty of downtime. You’ll run, explore, and eat together – but also have hours each day to unwind, swim, nap, or enjoy the villa.

Prices vary based on room type e.g. a shared twin room costs less than a private room at solo occupancy. Once the trip is live, all prices will be available.

Not at all! Everything included in the price is clearly listed. Optional add-on activities and meals not included will always be communicated upfront.

Expect a mix of scenic road routes, coastal paths, forest trails, and viewpoint climbs – each handpicked to show off the best of the destination. All days include one guided run, ranging from 5-15 km, with optional extra runs for those who want more. Some days are easy shakeouts, others include tempo sections or gradual trail climbs, and there’s always the RUNHAUS interval track session to push each other further.

Our trips are welcoming and supportive, but they are running holidays – not beginners’ retreats – and are designed for the regular runner who trains consistently. You should be familiar with longer distances, comfortable running in warm temperatures, and tackling light elevation. If you can run 15km at an easy pace, and usually train a few times per week, then you’re ready. Faster runners will have space and encouragement to push; steadier runners won’t get left behind.

Each trip has its own selection of routes; forest trails, coastal paths, mountain viewpoints, road routes, and local town loops. Expect a mix of terrain and scenery throughout the week.

Absolutely. Most, if not all, runs will have two guides – allowing for different paces and ensuring everyone is supported.

No – all runs are completely optional. Our routes are designed to suit a wide range of abilities, so you’re always free to take it easier, walk instead, or sit out a session entirely. It’s your trip, and you can choose what feels right for you each day.

The daily distance refers to the planned run length for that day, and doesn’t include any additional hiking distances. Many runs do not have a fixed distance because they’re designed to be flexible – allowing each person to choose the pace and distance that suits them, while still starting and finishing together as a group.

Once your place is secured, we’ll send you a detailed guide with recommended flight times that align with our pick-up and drop-off window.

We’ll share exact meeting points for both the airport and city pickup locations closer to the trip date but in plenty of advance. There will be a pick-up at Bologna airport in the afternoon, and then a quick pick-up in Bologna city centre afterwards.

We’ll send you a full packing list, covering running kit, villa essentials, and optional items depending on the activities available once booked in

Rooms are assigned on arrival based on your booking type and a pre-trip questionnaire you will be asked to fill out once your spot is secured.

You’ll share with another guest of the same sex who has a similar profile based on your questionnaire. We do our best to pair people thoughtfully.

If there are any issues, speak to us. We’ll always try to find a solution that makes both guests comfortable.

Most rooms share bathrooms unless the room is specifically listed as having an ensuite.

Most meals are included and served family-style: big villa breakfasts, build-your-own spreads, fresh Mediterranean ingredients, pastas, grains, salads, fruits, meats, cheeses, and plenty of snacks. Our aim is simple – good food, lots of it, shared together.

You’ll have the chance to explore local restaurants for those meals. We’ll provide recommendations and coordinate group options.

Yes. You will be able to let us know on your booking and we’ll reach out before the trip to confirm details. We always ensure there’s plenty for you to eat.

We don’t supply drinks as part of the trip, though water is always available at the villa. You’re absolutely welcome to buy your own drinks and bring them along; just note that fridge space may be limited! Alcohol isn’t provided, but it’s not discouraged. If you’d like to pick some up, the trip leads will help coordinate a stop or group purchase once everyone arrives. Enjoy responsibly, relax, and make the trip feel like the one you want.

You can secure your spot with a deposit. The remaining balance is due three months before the trip.

Prices depend on your room type. Double rooms (solo or shared with a friend/partner), shared twins, and different villa layouts all have different rates. Full pricing is shown when each trip is live.

Yes absolutely – your money is not touched until your trip is completed. Please see our full terms and conditions for details.
